Kiefer’s Zoie Kiddy – Girls Track Poll Winner Presented by Barracuda Staffing

Zoie Kiddy is a sophomore this year at Kiefer High School who competes in the 800 meter and the 1600 meter run for the Lady Trojans track team. She has competed in the sport for four years, putting her love of running into action.

“As a kid I played basketball, softball, and one of my favorite things to do was to sprint as fast as I could when I could,” she said. “So when I was offered to run track in seventh grade I knew this was the sport for me. The rush of running and passing other runners in a race gave me so much adrenaline and was fun at the same time.”

Kiddy is also involved in cross country, cheer, FCA, and FFA. Her favorite thing about being a student athlete at Kiefer is getting to represent her school and her community in a positive light.

“What I like about competing for my high school and community is that I want to represent my school well, always do my best, and make the people back at home proud,” she said.

Her motivation comes from her strong faith, as well as her mother, who she aims to make proud.

“The number one thing that motivates me to do my best is God. I know God put me here on earth for a purpose,” she said. “I strive everyday to do my best to fulfill that purpose. What also motivates me is my mom; I not only strive to make God proud, but I also strive to make my mom proud.”

Kiddy’s mother is a role model to her for many reasons.

“My mom is definitely a person I look up to on a daily basis,” she said. “She was an all-around athlete who instilled in me the importance of academic excellence. I aim to be like she was and still is.”

As Kiddy reflects on a great sophomore season she is excited to see what the future holds for her as well.

“I would describe this season as my ‘Champion Season.’ This season has been the most confident I have every felt in God and in my running. I also learned to push myself and I realized there is no limit to how much I can PR,” she said.
