Booker T. Washington Hornets

GIRLS

Coach: Rabu Leyva

18-19 Record: 16-11

The returning regional champions from a year ago are poised to make another run at the gold ball. VYPE Top 100 player Wyvette Mayberry (5-7, Sr.) leads the way at point guard. Mayberry averaged 15.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 3.3 steals per game last season. Mayberry has signed to play at the next level with Oral Roberts University. Another senior looking to leave an impact on Hornet basketball is Armani Reed (5-9, Sr.) at small forward. Reed accounted for 9.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.3 steals last year. A very explosive player, Reed has college offers on the table. Sai Johnson (5-9, Jr.) will start at forward where she averaged 6.1 points and 5.4 rebounds a game. Johnson can crash the boards and is a tough player in the paint. Carrigan Hill (5-6, So.) is a young and exciting player to watch. Hill averaged 5.6 points and 2.3 assists as a freshman. She’s not afraid to put it up when it counts and is a clutch shooter. Victoria Nunez (5-6, So.) will see time at shooting guard where she played last season. Also look for Emmary Williams (5-6, Sr.) to play some there as well. Williams may be the teams top defender. Aunisty Smith (5-9, So.) is a great shooter and a matchup problem for most at her position. Smith is on several college radars. The coaching staff will consist of Rachel Block, Anthony Cherry and Reginald Ice Terry.
